Firstly congrats to our celebrity news writer Cindy Locke on a healthy baby girl. Carina Hope Locke was born Nov. 3 weighing 9 lbs 1 ounce and measuring 20 inches at birth. We wish mum, dad and baby all the best and look forward to Cindy's return to the site...in a while! (This editor's first tot is also due in the next week, so babies galore on M&C)
In other news the Movie and DVD section now have a page listing the recommended titles each month. This is as per the Book section but based on the rating. For movies it is 6/10 and in DVD 7/10.
We have also opened the Intelligence and Terrorism section in World News. This is updated daily (during week days) and covers more obscure news on counter terrorism, bio-terrorism, homeland security, security alerts and devices, weaponry, organized crime and government contracts. It also looks at international military and political policy.
The news posted in this section is often not covered elsewhere on the site. We hope it will be of interest to some of you. We might add a country profile area to it at a later point...need to see.
You might also see some alterations to the way we show our adverts, this is just part of our constant optimisation process. The site does cost quite a bit to run so we are always trying to improve our revenue without ruining your visit. Remember you can always report an offensive or irritating advert via our contact page.
Competitions for global and U.S. users will also be making a return starting this week. We had suspended them due to some admin problems. So look out for lots of great prizes over the coming months. U.K. competitions will continue as usual.
Finally we are currently in talks to increase the coverage across the site, especially regards features and longer articles...mostly in Sport and World News, but also in the various entertainment sections. Oh and the Narnia preview currently running in the Movie section is a taste of things to come. These will be published each week and an index page supplied so that you can review them all in the one place.
